Happy Birthday H!!

Hi everyone! I hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend!!

I am really exhausted but feel like I should update everyone. So here is a list of things going on in my life:

1) I’ve had a couple job interviews but haven’t heard anything yet.

2) Today is my friend H’s 21st birthday so yay to her!

3) My best friend Squeaks is home now from her summer job!!! Yay!!

4) I have worn a couple decent outfits I wanted to share with you!

I went on a job interview last week and this is the outfit I wore. A yellow turtleneck tee from Express, a gray tweed skirt from Forever 21 and my gray Rocketdog flats. I even put on a little makeup. I added my black pearl necklace and bracelet. The outfit was professional and the yellow kept it fun. I really liked it and got a compliment on my necklace. I know they tell you its better to overdress for an interview instead of underdress but I disagree. I think overdressing makes you seem a little desperate and overly willing to please, especially if you haven’t had a job in a few weeks or months. I like to dress the way I would dress everyday if I got the job. I think this outfit exemplifies my professional style. What have you guys been told? Which do you think is better for a job interview, dress as you would on a normal day of work or overdress?

I had to run errands all day Wednesday but I didn’t want to just throw on a shirt and jeans, so I decided to spice it up a bit. I decided to wear a pink shirt from Express with my gray and pink fleur de lis vest (also from Express). I decided it was to hot for pants so I threw on some capris from Forever 21 and my Sam Edelman shoes from Akira Chicago.

My friend ASK was in town on Thursday so grabbed dinner together at Houlihan’s. As always, the company was great and the food was delicious. I knew how cold it gets in a restaurant so I wore a cardigan from Delia’s over my Mickey Mouse shirt from Disney World. I also wore my new pair of Old Navy jeans and my Sam Edelman shoes!

You can see my outfit from yesterday in my previous post. It is a top from Arden B I got as a birthday gift and jeans from Express. Of course I wore them with my Sam Edelman shoes. I know I know… Jeez Niv.. stop wearing those shoes.. but I CAN’T. They are too cute!!

Today we went to TGIFriday’s to celebrate my friend H’s birthday. It was a ton of fun! I decided to try out my new Akira Chicago top and belt and they got a ton of compliments. I decided to wear tan leggings underneath to bring out the tan in the top more. I added a silver bracelet from New York and Company, my nickname necklace from Disney World and fleur de lis earrings I got as a gift from friends for my birthday last year. Of course, I also wore my Sam Edelman shoes! Hahahaha (sorry).

Once again….

HAPPY BIRTHDAY H!!! I HOPE YOU HAD AN AMAZING DAY!!!

What type of outfits do you usually wear when going out for a friend’s birthday?

My First Haul!

I went shopping with my friend Bebe today! I picked up the Sam Edelman shoes I won from Akira and bought an adorable belt and top.

Also, this is day two of the Kaka Twitter Challenge! I’m doing pretty well I think. I have done 4 Tweets in 2 days. He will have to eventually Tweet me.

I also have a job interview tomorrow downtown! Wish me luck! I’ll be sure to snap a picture of my interview outfit!

The Kaka Challenge and Coconut Ice Cream

Believe it or not – two posts in three days!!!

As I am a giant soccer fan (I think most of you already know that), I am also Kaka’s biggest fan. Kaka is a Brasilian soccer player who plays for Real Madrid. I have been slightly obsessed with him for the last seven years or so. Anyway back to the point of my story, I follow him on Twitter and he often tweets to his fans. Well I have made it my mission in life to get him to tweet to me. I am posting this on my blog, because it will be nice to have your support while I try to get my favorite athlete in the world to talk to me.  I’ll keep everyone posted!

So though I didn’t have time to accessorize my outfit, below is a photo of me with my friends H and T on my birthday. I wore a simple gray and white dress from Discovery and threw on some Old Navy flip flops for our casual dinner. I liked it.

Sunday I went to P.F Chang’s with my mom for a dinner. We rarely go out for dinner together, and my mom hates Chinese food but I really wanted some Banana Spring Rolls. We took the order to go, and they forgot my coconut ice cream! I was really upset! The coconut ice cream is essential to the Banana Spring Roll dessert. Needless to say, I called them and the manager said they would “send something over right away” and took my address. So I waited and no one ever came. I asked my friend Amiga since she worked there before and she wasn’t sure what he meant by that. Hopefully he’ll just send over some coupons or something. I really love the coconut ice cream.

I was feeling very nautical on Sunday and decided to wear a white tank top from Old Navy and a blue skirt from Nordstrom. I paired the outfit with these super cute silver sandals from Discovery, red pearl bracelet and a silver necklace with my nickname on it that I bought from Disney World. The outfit gave me a very understated sailor look, without making me look like an American flag. Below is also a picture of what my Banana Spring Rolls should have looked like.

I used to wear a ton of color and dress up my regular tshirts, but I feel like lately I haven’t been dressing up my everyday outfits. I got a new t-shirt from Aeropostale and I really wanted to wear it, but I wanted to keep it trendy and not just throw on a pair of jeans. I decided to throw on a yellow tank top from Discovery under, bright blue Dickies bermuda shorts and yellow Old Navy flip flops. I also wore my new mustard yellow bracelet I bought from Disney World with my name on it. It sounds like a lot of weird colors, but it actually looked really cool.

Today, I just went to work with my mom so I dressed casually but tried not to be underdressed. I bought these plaid bermuda shorts from Aeropostale last summer but I had gained some weight and was unable to fit into them. I have since lost some weight and was finally able to rip off the tags today!! I wore them with my new Ed Hardy sneakers (which were a birthday gift from my friends H and T!!), a gray tshirt, a teal tanktop and once again my name bracelet and nickname necklace. Casual, but trendy!

What did you guys wear today? I would love to see!

I’m Back!

So you may not believe this but I SWEAR I POSTED LAST WEEK!! I have no idea why it didn't post, but i wrote a post on Sunday.?

Anyway hear is a recap of what I said on Sunday:?

I WENT TO DISNEY WORLD!!!!!!! IT WAS AMAZING!! I even got to see the new Wizarding World of Harry Potter. It was soo cool. The rides were super fun and I got stuck on the Hogwarts ride but I didn't mind at all! I was there for a week with my friend Bebe. It was really hot and we got really tired, but it was worth it.?

Also, Monday was my birthday! It was great. The day was spent watching Friday Night Lights and ?I got to spend dinner with my close friends then came home to have cake with my family. All in all, I really enjoyed it.?

My friend came into cheap John Mayer tickets yesterday so we went to the concert yesterday and it was interesting. The first 75% of the show has almost no singing and then the last 25% was really good and had all the favorites. ?I will post some new pictures as soon as I can (including today's outfit, more Disney World and Harry Potter).?
