Yesterday, I had some delicious Sushi with my friend Heba and one of her friends. I posted a photo yesterday of the Marilyn statue that has been on Michigan Avenue for awhile now. Well, we were discussing how the statue was supposed to come down eventually… 

This morning I found this photo (credit to the Chicago Sun Times) of Marilyn broken in half.  While I am not really sure what Marilyn had to do with Chicago, I am sad to see it go. Mind you, its not like I see it on a day to day basis or anything, it was just something cool to see. How cool would it be to see a statue of yourself in downtown Chicago? I mean COME ON! That would be awesome!! Just imagine driving down Michigan Ave and seeing a giant Nivene statue.. that would be crazy! Highly unlikely– but still really crazy. 

Yesterday we decided to try a new sushi place (new to us) called Niu. They have really interesting types of sushi. We tried the Mellow Yellow, Spicy Mexican and Strawberry Fields. Yup… that’s right..there was strawberry in that sushi roll. The Spicy Mexican was definitely my favorite – It had shrimp, spicy Alaskan shredded crab, jalapenos and was topped with avacado. The jalapeno didn’t overpower the entire roll and acutally just added a little kick. I would definitley recommend it if you adventurous with your sushi choices.
